About BOHDS

HISTORY OF THE BENDIGO ORAL HEALTH & DENTISTRY SOCIETY

Bendigo Oral Health and Dentistry Society (BOHDS) formed in March of 2009 and was authorised as an official club under the Bendigo Student Association (BSA). The society was formed to represent the dentistry and oral health students at La Trobe University which had recently established the dentistry program in 2008.

Since then, BOHDS has continued to grow and develop further as a society. As of 2012 the dentistry program reached the major milestone of becoming a fully accredited course by the Australian Dental Council. This also meant that BOHDS had student members spanning year 1-5 of the dentistry program and year 1-3 of the oral health program.
